OUR MISSION

The mission of the American University of Complementary Medicine is to respond to the needs for developing competently trained practitioners, theoreticians, educators, and researchers in the field of complementary and alternative medicine through its programs.


Offering practical skills in complementary medicine and the educational foundation for students who desire to pursue advanced training in complementary and alternative medicine. The programs are designed for physicians, acupuncturists, psychologists, nurses, dentists, nutritionists, homeopaths, chiropractors, naturopaths, osteopaths, veterinarians, physical therapists, and other health care providers interested in developing skills in theory, inquiry, and applied research in the field of complementary medicine.  


In today's society, educators and health care providers need to be able to address health issues from broad perspectives and understand practices within their cultural contexts as well as in the context of world health issues. The programs at American University of Complementary Medicine encompass a variety of worldviews, complementary medical practices, personal and social values, philosophical perspectives, spiritual practices, and global awareness. This program interweaves intellectual pursuits with experiential learning and an emphasis on personal growth, health, and conscious living.


The programs at AUCM are designed to develop competently trained theoreticians, researchers, and clinicians n thew field of natural medicine by preserving the rich historical, philosophical, and oral traditions and increasing their applicability to treatment in modern America.
