ESSENTIAL OILS FOR SHEN DISTURBANCES
Comparison with Psychotropic Drugs (SATURDAY & SUNDAY)
ESSENTIAL OILS ARE PRODUCED BY Ducts or glands of one part or several parts of a plant. Carrying the plant’s chemotype or Jing, they constitute powerful healing agents in treating people with physical, psychological, and spiritual problems. Historically, oils were used to create salves and poultices or asincense to help persons with spiritual and psychological issues. Today’s use, forged by Daoist priest Jeffrey C. Yuen, is to apply a combination of essential oils on acupuncture points to stimulate the flow of Qi in various channels. On Saturday & Sunday Mr. Yuen will focus upon using essential oils within the paradigm of classical Chinese medicine to treat various psychological issues and states, including anxiety, depression, and addiction. He will discuss how they can be used as adjuncts or alternatives to psychotropic drugs.
