Dinacharya: Daily Ritual Practices for Health and Longevity “PRACTICE AND PREACH AYURVEDA”
April 8, 2006, from 1-5 p.m. The American University of Complementary Medicine (AUCM)
is happy to sponsor a free afternoon lecture with
Dr. PARLA JAYAGOPAL
"Dr. Jay" is an esteemed professor teaching in our Master of Science program in Ayurvedic Medicine.
He will be teaching a free hands-on workshop to learn and practice Ayurveda in day-to-day life.
Focus will be on the practice of DINACHARYA – daily routine, a flow chart of activities and events as practiced and preached by legends
of Ayurveda.
Dinacharya commences when you rise in the morning, continues throughout the day, and concludes with preparations for the next day.
Regular practice of this routine results in rejuvenation and reversal of the effects of stress.
Dr. Jay writes:
"'Practice makes perfect' is true in the case of any discipline, but the citation used by the teachers of Ayurveda is, 'practice it, perfect it and teach it.'
To accomplish the goal of well-being, this time tested medical science has laid down simple but longterm beneficial practices.
Healing comes through physical well-being, resonant mind, and wholesome spirit.
Here is a unique opportunity to rejuvenate your knowledge."
As the Sanskrit mantra expresses:
SARVE JANAH SUKHINO SANTU |
SARVE SANTHU NIRAAMAYA ||
SARVE BADRANI PASHYANTU |
MAA KASHCHID DUKHA BAGBAVED ||
OM SHANTI SHANTI SHANTIHI ||
“Let every one be blissful”
“Let every one be healthy”
“Let every one visualize auspiciousness in every thing”
“Let there be no misery in any ones life”
“Peace to body, mind and soul”
