Qigong for Infertility (Saturday)

Tongue diagnosis and treatment (Sunday)

Plus Classical Chinese Herbal Medicine -- Perspectives from the Ben Cao/Materia Medica (Fri. & Mon.)

April 22-25, 2011

April 22 & 25, 2011 (Fri. & Mon.), In the two days Dr. Jeffrey Yuen will continue to survey the historical evolution of Chinese herbal medicine with the focus on the Xin Shou Ben Cao (Newly-Revised Material Medica of the Tang Dynasty).
On Monday we will treat patients using the Tang Ben Cao and with the mindframe of a Tang clinician, using classification of diseases based on the humors rather than Zang-Fu.

April 23, 2011, Saturday will focus on Qigong for Infertility. Dr. Yuen will guide us through Taoist qigong exercises that can be used to regenerate the reproductive system and optimize the energetics that are necessary for conception. He will be covering exercises for treating both male and female infertility.

April 24, 2011, Sunday will focus on Tongue diagnosis and treatment. Classical approaches to tongue diagnosis incorporate subtleties not typically taught in TCM programs. In this class, Dr. Yuen will help students sharpen their diagnostic skills by introducing the theory of tongue diagnosis, how it is used classically, and how one can greatly improve clinical outcomes through the recognition of subtleties on the tongue. This class will be split equally into theory and practical aspects, where Dr. Yuen will treat patients and demonstrate how we take the findings from tongue diagnosis and turn them into effective treatments.
