Treating Shen Disturbances Using Gems and Stone Medicine
February 6 - 8, 2009
In this weekend of a series reintroducing the use of gems and stones in the practice of Chinese Medicine, Dr. Jeffrey Yuen will focus upon the treatment of mental, emotional, and neurological disorders using gems and stones with luo vessels. He will discuss the gems and stones that resonate with the 15 longitudinal Luo-connecting vessels as well as those that activate the transverse Luo pairs. In addition, he will describe various ways of using gems and stones on points on the Luo-connecting vessels, and methods of making gem and stone elixirs/waters for internal intake to promote healing vibrations for psychological and neurological disorders. Historically, stones occupied a predominant place in the most important Chinese herbal materia medicas and in acupuncture as stone needles. Yet gems and stones have largely been left out of contemporary practice of Chinese medicine. The classics contend that their density and solidity represent permanence in healing and the stabilization of energetic intentions and therapies.
The Tucson Gem Shows
The seminar is scheduled around the Tucson Gem, Mineral, and Fossil Showcase, which consists of dozens of shows taking place at the same time. For two weeks every winter, the world meets in Tucson as it becomes a bustling, international marketplace of buyers and sellers. The "Gem Show" is much more than a single event at one location. Dozens of concurrent shows are held in giant white tents, at hotels and resorts, and at exhibit halls around town. The shows attract thousands of treasure hunters from every corner of the globe and most of the shows are open to the public.
Please Note: Taping of the lectures will not be permitted.
