  The Ayurvedic Medicine Certficate Program prepares students for an exciting career in Ayurvedic medicine, with a specialty in Kerala (South Indian) Panchakarma. Ayurveda is the more than 5,000-year-old indigenous medical system of East India. Ayurveda integrates nutrition, herbal medicine, lifestyle counseling, special cleansing and detoxification procedures, and rejuvenation techniques to treat a person's body, mind, and soul. Graduates of the Certificate Program may practice independently as Ayurvedic Medicine Practitioners under the provisions and conditions of the California Health Freedom Act (see page 2 of the catalog), join the staffs of hospitals offering certain complementary medical treatments, or become licensed as massage therapists and work in exclusive spas and health resorts. AUCM's 660-hour certificate program features an on-site, supervised clinical internship in Ayurvedic Medicine.
