AYURVEDIC MEDICINE
Ayurvedic Medicine is an ancient system of health focusing on the Three Dosha Theory, which describes how the five elements in nature (Earth, Water, Fire, Air, and Ether) combine to control the processes of the body and mind. The three doshas are Vata, the principle governing all motion or movement; Pitta, which controls all transforming processes; and Kapha, which is responsible for cohesion, growth and liquefaction.

Each person is born with a unique combination of the three doshas that determines his or her constitution and personality. By identifying and properly balancing the constitution, one is able to create a state of ideal health.

South Indian Malabar-Style Panchakarma is a comprehensive system of knowledge and practices used to purify the body of toxins and restore balance. The human body has a natural healing intelligence capable of constant rejuvenation. However, doshic imbalances and weakened digestive capacity allow toxic impurities to form, blocking the natural capacity to heal. Panchakarma purifes the degenerating influence of foreign substances and frees the system to exercise its inherent rejuvenative abilities.

South Indian Malabar-Style treatment involves massage application of warm essential oils to remedy specific imbalances and detoxify the system, use of special herb compresses which are heated and rubbed on the body, oil poured on the forehead for stress relief and, finally, a dusting and rubbing of a combination of herbs and chickpea flour to stimulate the energy and to remove the toxins. The result is positively rejuvenating.

Malabar Abhyanga
A relaxing Herbal Oil Massage utilizing Special Oils, Herbal Rice Bags, and Herbal Decoctions specific for balancing your constitutional type is followed by an invigorating Herb/Chick Pea Flour Rub (60 minutes) $150.00

Shirodhara
A 15-minute Initial Consultation is followed by a 30-minute Mental Relaxation Oil Therapy, which calms the emotions and relieves stress as oil is gently poured on the forehead at the 6th chakra. $80.00

The Ayurvedic Internship Clinic provides a 2-hour appointment that includes intake, doshic analysis, dietary and herbal recommendations, abhyanga (full-body massage) with herb oils to correct your imbalance, swedana (sweating treatment) to aid detoxification, and shirodhara (river of oil on forehead) for the reduced rate of $120.

Professional Homeopaths are available for private 2-3 hour consultations.

The Homeopathic Internship Clinic meets once a week. A 2-hour initial consultation with an advanced Homeopathic Intern is offered for a $75 donation and $50 for follow-up appointments.
